FIFA Ticket Glitch Gives Fans Free World Cup Seats
A technical issue in FIFA’s ticketing system has created fresh controversy ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
According to reports, around 60 fans were able to reserve World Cup tickets showing a total cost of 0 dollars during checkout. The affected tickets were reportedly for group stage matches scheduled to be played in Toronto.
The unexpected error allowed supporters to secure seats without making payment before FIFA identified the issue.
FIFA Demands Correct Ticket Payment
FIFA has acknowledged the mistake and says it regrets any inconvenience caused to fans.
However, the organization has informed affected customers that they must now pay the correct ticket price if they wish to keep their seats. Reports indicate that fans have been given seven days to complete payment.
If payment is not made within the specified period, the reserved tickets could be canceled and returned to the market.
World Cup Ticket Prices Face Growing Criticism
The ticketing error comes at a time when FIFA is already facing criticism over World Cup pricing.
Many supporters have complained that ticket costs have risen significantly, making it harder for ordinary fans to attend matches.

World Cup Final Tickets Reach Record Prices
The debate intensified after reports revealed the high cost of tickets for the World Cup final.
Recent listings showed the cheapest available final ticket selling for approximately 7,869 dollars including fees. Premium seats closer to the pitch were reportedly available for more than 12,800 dollars.
By comparison, the original face value of final tickets reportedly ranged between 2,030 dollars and 7,875 dollars.
FIFA Ticketing Practices Under Scrutiny
The controversy has attracted attention from officials in the United States.
Reports indicate that the Attorneys General of New York and New Jersey have requested information from FIFA regarding ticket sales, seat allocations, and variable pricing methods.
As the tournament approaches, questions about affordability, transparency, and fan access are likely to remain a major issue for organizers.
