Alonso Signs Four-Year Deal at Stamford Bridge
Xabi Alonso has officially been named the new manager of Chelsea F.C. on a four-year contract beginning in July.
The appointment comes after a chaotic season for Chelsea, who went through multiple managerial changes and recently lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City F.C..
Club officials hope Alonso can restore stability and guide Chelsea back into contention for major trophies and Champions League football.
A Rising Manager With Elite Experience
Alonso arrives with a growing reputation as one of Europe’s most promising coaches. During his time at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, he led the club to its first-ever Bundesliga title and a German Cup triumph in 2024.
Before moving into management, Alonso enjoyed an elite playing career with clubs including Liverpool F.C., Real Madrid CF, and FC Bayern Munich.

He also won the FIFA World Cup and two European Championships with Spain national football team.
Chelsea Looking for Stability
Chelsea’s leadership believes Alonso’s tactical intelligence and strong personality can help rebuild confidence within the squad after a disappointing season.
The club currently sits outside the European qualification spots and faces growing pressure to return to the top level of English and European football.
