Why AI Infrastructure Is Fueling Fear
Massive AI data centers are being built at unprecedented scale across the US and Middle East.
OpenAI’s Stargate initiative genuinely involves enormous infrastructure expansion tied to future AGI development. Large-scale projects involving OpenAI, Oracle, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Gulf investment are expanding rapidly.
At the same time, AI data centers consume enormous electricity, massive water resources, and hundreds of billions of capital.
That combination of secrecy, scale, and power is helping fuel internet anxiety around AI.

The Conspiracy Theory Spreading On TikTok And Reddit
That anxiety is now creating its own mythology.
One of the internet’s strangest new conspiracy theories is spreading rapidly across Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
The theory claims that massive AI data centers are not just technological infrastructure, but “portals” summoning non-human intelligence into the world.
Some versions describe these entities as aliens. Others describe them as demons, interdimensional beings, or artificial consciousness escaping human control.
The “Summoning Aliens” Quote That Started Everything
The panic appears tied to a Ronan Farrow New Yorker profile about Sam Altman and OpenAI.
A former OpenAI executive described AI systems as “building portals from which we’re genuinely summoning aliens.”
The quote sparked immediate discussion across social media platforms. Within days, the theory had evolved into a broader narrative about Silicon Valley attempting to create superintelligence that could fundamentally reshape human existence.
What Professor Jiang Actually Believes
Online commentator Professor Jiang Xueqin argues AI is no longer merely technology, but part of an occult or quasi-religious project.
He links AGI, Stargate infrastructure, consciousness theories, and Silicon Valley rhetoric to ideas about “creating God” through artificial superintelligence.
Jiang also references CIA “Operation Stargate,” remote viewing experiments, and apocalyptic belief systems surrounding AGI.
No evidence supports literal claims involving demons or supernatural entities.
Why Gen Z Is Creating Religious Frameworks For AI
This conspiracy theory is spreading fastest on platforms like TikTok and Reddit where Gen Z congregates.
It is a signal that a generation is trying to make sense of AI using the only frameworks available to them: religion, spirituality, and apocalyptic belief.

The deeper fear may not actually be supernatural. It may be that artificial intelligence is beginning to feel so powerful, poorly understood, and globally transformative that people no longer talk about it like ordinary technology anymore.
