The Family Made A Fortune. His Fans Took The Losses.

The Windfall Was Written Into His Own Paperwork

Donald Trump’s newest financial disclosure turned his crypto empire into one of the clearest controversy stories of his presidency. According to Al Jazeera, Trump received more than $500m from World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture he and his sons co-founded, and reported another $635m from the sale of his $TRUMP meme coins. Combined, his 2025 disclosure shows more than $1.4 billion in income from crypto ventures during his first year back in office.

This wasn’t a leak or an anonymous tip. It came from Trump’s own government paperwork. The 927 page disclosure, released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, showed crypto was the largest source of Trump’s income for the year, ahead of his real estate and legal settlements, according to TIME.

The Family Made A Fortune. Many Buyers Didn’t

The controversy deepens because the money didn’t move evenly. Company disclosures show the Trump family was entitled to roughly $500 million from a 2025 crypto transaction between World Liberty Financial and a publicly traded company then called Alt5 Sigma, whose stock has since fallen more than 90%, CNBC reported. Ethics groups have since pushed the SEC to investigate.

Crypto Policy And Private Profit Collided In Plain Sight

Trump has pushed to make the U.S. the crypto capital of the world, appointing crypto friendly regulators and backing looser rules for the industry. His family’s earnings rose alongside those same policies.

Another Country, Another Door Opened For The Family Business

In January, Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance signed a memorandum of understanding with an affiliate of World Liberty Financial, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Asim Munir present, exploring a dollar pegged stablecoin for cross border payments, Al Jazeera reported. Nearly six months on, no pilot project, no license, and no known transaction has materialized.

The Scandal Was Never Hidden. It Was Filed

Trump’s crypto windfall wasn’t uncovered by an investigation. It was declared, in his own disclosure, and confirmed independently by Al Jazeera, TIME, NBC and CNBC. See NBC News for the meme coin breakdown.
